| Rural Inland Spanish Property Sales |
In the past, Spain's coasts were the first choice for people looking
to settle down in Spain with property for sale in the Costa del Sol being the most popular. And while Spanish coastal homes are still
popular, the prices have risen enough in the past few years to make
people looking to buy spanish property want to reconsider where they buy. Because of this,
rural property sales in Andalucia Spain and other regions are really on the rise-- rural homes are
becoming more and more popular with the British (and other Europeans)
looking for an investment or a great vacation home.
The Rural Lifestyle
Years ago, living on the Spanish coast was, well, living in Spain. Not
anymore. With the incredible influx of tourists and expats to these
areas, there's very little "real Spain" left in most of the Spanish
coast-- the "real Spanish" have all moved to inland Andalucia. It's just one more
thing that makes a rural inland Spanish property so appealing: it's
actually Spanish.
Spain is a country full of life and variety, and the rural lifestyle
changes from place to place. In friendly Andalucia you'll be surrounded
by whitewashed homes with red tiles roofs, mountain views, and wide
blue skies. In any of Jaen's 97 small rural towns, you'll be in the
heart of the olive country, surrounded by undulating olive groves as
far as the eye can see.
The Spanish rural lifestyle is for those who are really looking for
a change-- and for a real life. Rural Spain isn't for beer-binging
tourists; it's for people looking to live their lives in a quiet,
festive, and beautiful place. Sun-soaked courtyards and bright outdoor
fruit markets. One-lane roads winding through olive groves and
vineyards. Sharing a pitcher of sangria on a country terrace of dark,
rustic wood. Here, the people work and eat and celebrate and… are
simply Spanish.
And while the locals do vary from place to place, another thing that
attracts so many people to rural Spain is the welcoming nature of the
Spanish-- these aren't the too-busy "city Spanish" you find in Barcelona
and Madrid, but real small town people who make an effort to learn
your name and remember how you like your coffee. It's something you're
not likely to find on the raw and tourist-eaten coasts.
Consider Before you Move
For those that are up for an entirely new lifestyle, a rural inland
Spanish property can be a wonderful choice. But it's not a decision to
make lightly. There are several things you'll want to think about before
making the decision to move-- because the lifestyle here is going to be
very different. Both in good ways and bad.
The first thing that you'll need to consider before deciding to buy spanish property
and move to rural Spain is the language. Rural property sales in Spain are
rising all over the country, but most of these will not be geared
towards English-speaking expats. That's part of their charm, right? But
it also means that learning Spanish will be more important here then
in other areas of Spain, such as the cities and coasts. For most people
looking to settle in rural Andalucia and other regions of Spain, however, this is another benefit of
moving there-- you truly have to adapt to and be immersed in this new
culture.
Also, especially if you're from a large city like London or Berlin,
prepare for a little bit of culture shock when moving to rural Spain.
Things actually are slow and quiet here-- it's not something people
pretend when posing for a postcard. And while that gives you plenty
of time to sit in the sun and drink up a pitcher (or two) of sangria,
it can also be difficult to get used to. It's best to spend a bit of
time in the Spanish countryside before buying a rural inland Spanish property
there, just to make sure it's the perfect lifestyle for you. But if what you're really
looking for is quality of life, it probably will be.
